I'm deciding between the Ryzen 5 7500F and Ryzen 7 9700X. I've seen people say the 9700X has no real future, but I'm interested in its integrated graphics and 8 cores/16 threads, especially since I found it at a good price. I'll use the PC for gaming, Blender, video editing, and Photoshop, and I'm worried that the 7500F's 6 cores and 12 threads may be limiting for Blender. The CPU would be paired with an RX 9060 XT. Is the 9700X worth choosing, or would the 7500F be enough?

It’s a capable CPU, but gaming-focused X3D models are usually faster in games. That doesn’t make the 9700X a bad choice—it may actually be the more balanced option if you also care about productivity, integrated graphics, and lower temperatures or power use.
The Ryzen 7 9700X is still a good all-around processor. Eight cores and sixteen threads should be useful for Blender and editing, while gaming performance is also strong. The main question is whether the extra cost over the 7500F is justified for your workload.
For production workloads, the 9700X’s additional cores should give it an advantage over the 7500F, although the difference depends on how heavily you use Blender and your editing software. If the 9700X deal brings it reasonably close to the 7500F in price, I’d lean toward the 9700X for the extra headroom.
That’s what I’m thinking too. I’m not only building for gaming, so the extra cores and integrated graphics are appealing even if an X3D chip would be faster in games.
