I bought an HP Omen gaming desktop during the GPU shortage and recently reused its motherboard, Ryzen 7 5800X, cooler, and power supply in a different case. I upgraded the RAM and graphics card, but the GPU occasionally crashed before the system eventually stopped displaying anything. A technician concluded that the motherboard had failed. Now I'm choosing a replacement motherboard, but I can't determine what power supply I have because it has no obvious branding or model information. I believe it came from the original prebuilt. Is there a way to identify the PSU, or is knowing its wattage and whether it's modular enough for a parts compatibility checker?

Since it came from a prebuilt, try looking up the original system using its product or serial number on the manufacturer’s support site. The system’s specifications may list the exact PSU wattage and part number. If you no longer have the original case or paperwork, check the PSU itself carefully for a small label, barcode, spare sticker, or stamped part number. A clear photo of the connectors and every side of the unit may also help identify it. Keep in mind that some OEM power supplies use proprietary connectors, so wattage and modularity alone may not confirm motherboard compatibility.
