I'm moving to Berlin next week, and the drive will take about three hours. My PC has a large RTX 5070 Ti, and I'm worried about it being damaged during transportation. Should I remove the graphics card beforehand, or is it safe to leave it installed if I lay the computer down and pack it carefully?

It probably would survive the trip installed, but there’s little benefit to taking the risk when removal is quick. Secure the card and any removed screws in a small container, keep the PC upright or lying flat with the motherboard facing up, and cushion the case in the car so it can’t bounce around.
If you keep it installed, transport the case on its side with the motherboard facing upward so the card isn’t hanging from the slot. Put the PC in its original case box with the foam inserts if you still have them, and make sure it can’t slide around. A three-hour car trip should be fine if the roads and driving are reasonably smooth.
The graphics card is the main thing I’d take out. If you have a particularly large tower CPU cooler, consider removing that as well. Avoid stuffing hard or rigid objects inside the case; use clean, soft, nonconductive packing only to prevent movement, and don’t put pressure on the GPU or its power connector.
For peace of mind, I’d remove the graphics card. It only takes a few minutes, and a large GPU can put stress on the motherboard slot if the case gets jolted. Wrap it in an antistatic bag and pad it separately rather than leaving it loose inside the case.
I’ve transported computers this way many times without trouble, but newer graphics cards are much heavier, so removing one is still the safer option.
