Why does Marvel Rivals keep disconnecting and breaking cross-platform parties?

I play Marvel Rivals on PS5 with my boyfriend, who uses Xbox, but recently the game has become almost impossible to play together. We often appear offline to each other and cannot send party invites. When we do join a party, his game may load into the match while mine stays in the lobby, forcing me to restart the game and reconnect—sometimes several times. After matches, I frequently get a "server disconnected" message, and text and voice chat no longer work. I already reinstalled the game and factory-reset my router. My account name was recently flagged, and I had to change it, but I cannot rename it again until the seven-day restriction expires. Could a network setting, router issue, or account restriction be causing all of this?

Check the PS5’s NAT type under Settings > Network > Connection Status. NAT Type 3 can cause cross-platform party and matchmaking problems between PlayStation and Xbox. Ideally, the PS5 should show NAT Type 2. Enabling UPnP on the router or configuring the appropriate game ports can sometimes fix invite and connection failures. If the NAT is already Type 2 and UPnP is enabled, the issue may be with the game’s servers, your router’s compatibility, or an account-side problem rather than the basic connection test.

It already shows NAT Type 2, and UPnP is enabled. I also tried port forwarding, and the connection test says everything is fine, but the game still drops when I queue or try to join a match. I’m wondering whether the router itself might need to be replaced.
