My Acer gaming laptop powered off unexpectedly during a Zoom meeting. Before this happened, the only issue was that the Wi-Fi would occasionally stop working and restarting usually fixed it. The laptop never seemed to overheat, and it didn't feel especially hot when it shut down. I let it cool down, held the power button for 30–60 seconds, and tried reconnecting the charger, but it still won't turn on. The battery isn't removable, and there's no burnt smell. Is there anything else I should try, or could the laptop be seriously damaged?

Disconnect the charger and any accessories, then hold the power button for about 30–60 seconds to discharge residual power. After that, connect the charger only and try turning it on. If it still shows no lights, fan movement, or other response, the problem could involve the charger, battery, power circuitry, or motherboard. Since the battery is internal, avoid opening the laptop unless someone experienced is doing it. Check whether the charging light comes on and test with a known-good compatible charger if possible.
The battery can’t be removed, and there wasn’t any burnt smell. My brother may try opening it to check the internal connections, and I’ll see whether that changes anything.
