I recently ordered a Radeon 9070 16GB for about €650, but the package contained unusable e-waste instead. The return is being processed, and I'm not sure I'll find another 9070 at that price soon. I'm now comparing these prices from reputable stores in my area: Radeon 9060 XT 16GB for €550, 9070 GRE for €600, 9070 for about €690 when available, and 9070 XT for around €800. My current system has a Ryzen 7 5800X, an ASRock B350 Pro4 with PCIe 3.0, 32GB of RAM, an 850W power supply, and a GTX 1070 Ti. I currently play at 1080p but expect to upgrade to a 1440p OLED display. Which card offers the best price-to-performance balance, and is the 9060 XT still worth considering?

The 9070 XT is obviously the fastest option, but the best price-to-performance choice is usually the GRE in this lineup. Your 850W power supply is more than adequate, and PCIe 3.0 should work with these cards, though it may leave a small amount of performance on the table in some situations. The 5800X should also pair reasonably well with any of these GPUs, especially at 1440p.
A 9070 XT around €750 could be worth considering if you find it from a retailer with a reliable return process. It is substantially faster than the GRE, but don’t stretch your budget just to get the fastest card. At €800, the regular 9070 or 9070 GRE may offer a better balance depending on availability.
The 9070 GRE looks like the strongest value here. For only €50 more than the 9060 XT, it gives you a meaningful performance increase and is much better suited to 1440p. The 9070 non-XT would also be a good choice if you can find one near €690, but the 9070 XT at €800 starts becoming a more expensive upgrade rather than an obvious bargain.
If you mainly stay at 1080p, the 9060 XT 16GB is sufficient, although €550 makes it less attractive. Since you’re planning to move to 1440p OLED, I’d spend the extra €50 on the 9070 GRE instead. The additional performance should matter more at that resolution and give you better longevity.
