I usually connect my controller to what I thought were the NVIDIA USB ports because I believed they offered lower latency. For the past few days, though, connecting my controller or any other device to those same physical ports shows them under the AMD USB controller in USBTreeView. I checked the other ports too and updated the USB drivers, but I still can't find a way to connect through an NVIDIA controller. Am I misunderstanding how these USB ports are identified, or is something misconfigured?

Can you clarify what you mean by an NVIDIA USB port? USB ports are usually managed by the motherboard’s chipset or a separate USB controller. USBTreeView may label the controller as AMD even when you plug into a port located near an NVIDIA graphics card. The physical location of the port doesn’t necessarily determine which controller handles it.
The idea that an NVIDIA-controlled USB port automatically gives a controller lower latency is probably a misunderstanding. NVIDIA graphics cards generally don’t provide ordinary motherboard USB ports, and AMD chipset USB ports are normal on an AMD-based system. Unless your computer has a separate USB controller, USBTreeView showing AMD is likely expected and not a sign that the ports stopped working.
I’m not completely sure about the terminology—I assumed the ports connected to NVIDIA hardware would have lower latency because a tuning tool suggested using them.
