I used to play FIFA 16, 17, 20, 24, and 25 smoothly on my PC, including Career Mode. After not playing for several months, I reinstalled the games and now they lag badly. I haven't knowingly changed any settings or hardware. My graphics card is an RTX 2050. What could be causing the sudden performance problems, and how can I fix them?

Since the lag started after reinstalling, check whether the games are using the RTX 2050 instead of integrated graphics. Also update or clean-install the graphics driver, verify the games’ graphics settings and resolution, and make sure Windows hasn’t switched the power plan to battery-saving mode. Monitoring GPU and CPU usage while the game is running should help identify what is being limited.
I didn’t change anything manually. I reinstalled the games after several months away, and the lag began as soon as I started playing again.
