I'm planning my first desktop build as an upgrade from my nine-year-old laptop. I'd like it to handle gaming, recording gameplay, voice chat, and possibly streaming at the same time. I'm new to PC building, so I'd appreciate advice on whether these parts are compatible, where I could save money, and whether the system will remain useful and upgradeable in the future. Before anyone can properly review the parts list, it would help to know your maximum budget. That will make it easier to judge whether the build is balanced and where compromises might be worthwhile.
I’d like to spend as little as possible, but with memory and graphics cards being expensive, I’m hoping to stay around $1,000. I’m okay with going somewhat over that if it’s needed for the performance and upgradeability I’m looking for.
