After upgrading to an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, my PC displays an fTPM/firmware security warning every time it boots. I have been selecting N, but I want the computer to start normally without showing the prompt. In the firmware settings, Firmware TPM is enabled and "Erase fTPM NV for factory reset" is also enabled. What should I select or change? I also checked for BitLocker in Windows, and it reports that a compatible TPM cannot be found. Does that mean it is safe to reset the fTPM?

Select Y to reset the fTPM. Replacing the CPU can make the firmware TPM appear to have changed, which triggers this confirmation. Choosing N preserves the old TPM data, so the warning may continue appearing. Before confirming, make sure you are not using BitLocker or another device-encryption feature, since resetting the TPM can make an encrypted Windows installation request its recovery key. If encryption is not enabled, the reset should allow the system to boot normally.
That usually means BitLocker is not available or not currently using the TPM, but check Windows Settings for Device encryption as well. If neither BitLocker nor device encryption is enabled and you have no stored TPM-dependent credentials, choosing Y should be fine.
Windows says that a compatible TPM cannot be found when I check BitLocker. Does that confirm I am safe to choose Y?
