I'm choosing a new case for an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080. I don't need the absolute lowest GPU temperatures, but I do want strong enough airflow to keep the card at healthy temperatures over the long term without restricting it or making it run hotter than necessary. My priorities are plenty of clearance for the large GPU, good airflow, solid build quality, support for a 360mm AIO cooler, and a design I can keep using for several years. What cases would you recommend?

Most modern airflow-focused mid-towers and full-towers should handle a 5080 without trouble. Good options include the Fractal Meshify 3, Lian Li Lancool 216 or 217, Antec C5, NZXT H9 Flow, and Cooler Master HAF 500. Just confirm the Astral card’s exact length, thickness, and power-connector clearance before buying.
The Lian Li Lancool 207 is another strong airflow choice. In general, any case with a ventilated front or bottom, good fan support, and 360mm radiator mounting should work well. Pay close attention to radiator and RAM clearance if you use a thick cooler such as the Liquid Freezer III.
You probably don’t need an enormous case just because it has an RTX 5080. A well-designed mid-tower can provide plenty of room and airflow; the final temperatures will depend heavily on your fan layout and intake/exhaust balance. Check the case’s maximum GPU length with front-mounted radiators installed, since that can reduce available clearance.
For a mid-tower, the Lian Li Lancool 217 and ASUS ProArt PA401 are worth a look. If you want more space, consider the Antec Flux Pro, Fractal North XL, or ASUS ProArt PA602. These give you room for a large graphics card, multiple fans, and a 360mm radiator.
