EXPO is technically an overclock, so the advertised profile is not guaranteed to work on every CPU. AMD’s guaranteed DDR5 speed for a Ryzen 7000 system is lower than 5600, and the maximum stable setting depends on the individual CPU’s memory controller. Try running the memory at default settings first, then test a lower speed such as DDR5-5200 or 5400. If that works, increase it gradually rather than jumping straight to the rated profile.
Passing memory tests at stock settings does not prove that the EXPO configuration is stable. Test the exact settings that cause crashes for several hours, including normal desktop use and gaming. If the system is stable only at default or reduced memory speed, the likely limitation is the CPU’s integrated memory controller or the memory/board combination—not necessarily a defective component.
Make sure the two DIMMs are installed in the recommended slots, typically A2 and B2—the second and fourth slots from the CPU. Also test with EXPO completely disabled and a clean Windows installation while the system is at baseline settings. If Windows or game files were corrupted during earlier crashes, reinstalling while the RAM is stable can rule that out. Afterward, try the kit’s lower 5200 profile before attempting 5600.
Lowering frequency is usually the safest adjustment. You can try stepping down by 200 MT/s at a time and leave the primary timings on Auto initially. Tighter timings can improve performance, but they may also make an already marginal configuration less stable, so prioritize finding a reliable frequency first. Avoid continuing to raise voltages aggressively just to force EXPO to work.
