I have a six-month-old Lenovo Legion 5 16IAX10 with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. After it entered normal Windows Sleep mode while unattended, the internal display became severely corrupted when I woke it. Roughly the left 30–40% shows a pixelated, squashed version of the lock screen or desktop, while the remaining area is black or dark gray.
The laptop has not been dropped, pressed, exposed to liquid, or physically mishandled. The problem appears during the entire startup process and is still visible in the BIOS, not just after Windows loads.
So far I have tried restarting the graphics driver with Win+Ctrl+Shift+B and performing a forced shutdown by holding the power button for 10–15 seconds. Neither helped. An external monitor also behaves abnormally: it only offers 640×480 and 3840×2160, and changing the resolution produces an apparently empty desktop where applications do not appear or respond normally.
Could this still be a sleep-state or driver issue, or does the fact that the corruption appears in BIOS point to a hardware failure? What might cause a laptop to suddenly fail like this without any physical damage?

Updating drivers is worth trying only if the problem appears after Windows starts. Since the corruption is already visible in BIOS, a software fix is unlikely to resolve it. The external-monitor symptoms make a motherboard or graphics-controller issue more plausible, so warranty service is the safest route for a laptop this new.
Seeing the corruption during the boot process and inside BIOS is the important clue here. That largely rules out Windows, NVIDIA drivers, and ordinary sleep settings. Because the external display is also acting strangely, the likely problem is somewhere in the graphics path—such as the GPU, display controller, motherboard, or possibly a related power circuit—rather than only the built-in panel or its cable.
You can try one complete embedded-controller reset: shut the laptop down, disconnect the charger, hold the power button for 30–60 seconds, then reconnect the charger and start it again. If the image is still corrupted in BIOS afterward, avoid reinstalling Windows or repeatedly changing drivers. Photograph or record the problem while the Lenovo logo or BIOS is visible and contact Lenovo or the seller for a warranty repair. A hardware fault can appear suddenly because a component, solder joint, or power circuit fails during a normal power-state transition, even when there was no impact or other obvious trigger.
If the GPU or display controller is the problem, would this require opening the laptop and having a technician repair it? I still do not understand why it would suddenly fail just from waking up when there was no physical damage.

I have not tried updating the drivers yet, but the display is already corrupted before Windows loads, so I will document the BIOS screen and pursue the warranty instead of reinstalling anything.
