I'm building a gaming-only PC in Poland with a budget of about 14,000 PLN, excluding peripherals. I already have an ASUS ROG Strix XG27ACDNG running at 2560×1440 and 360Hz, plus an AOC AGON AG251FZ at 1080p and 240Hz. I mainly play competitive FPS games, where high frame rates, low input latency, and responsiveness matter most, but I also want strong performance in demanding AAA games with high or ultra settings, ray tracing, DLSS, and frame generation when appropriate. I'm also thinking ahead to GTA VI. I was considering an RTX 5080 with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D or 9850X3D, although I'm open to better alternatives. The build should include the CPU, GPU, motherboard, RAM, SSD, power supply, cooling, and case. My priorities are maximum gaming performance per złoty, excellent 1440p FPS, good ray-tracing performance, reasonable temperatures and noise, reliable components, and avoiding upgrades that provide little real-world benefit. I'm also willing to consider mild overclocking if it offers worthwhile gains.

A complete build around the 9800X3D and RTX 5080 can fit within the budget, but component pricing needs to be checked carefully. Prioritize the GPU, a good AM5 motherboard, 32GB of low-latency DDR5-6000, a reliable 2TB SSD, and a quality 850W or 1000W ATX 3.x PSU. Avoid overspending on an extreme motherboard, oversized liquid cooler, or premium SSD if those savings can improve the graphics card or overall airflow. For a gaming-focused system, the 9800X3D is likely the better value unless the 9850X3D provides a clearly worthwhile performance increase at the local price.

A Ryzen 7 9800X3D paired with an RTX 5080 is a very strong fit for this goal. The X3D processor should handle high-refresh competitive games well, while NVIDIA remains especially appealing for ray tracing, DLSS, and frame generation in AAA titles. A sensible supporting configuration would be 32GB of DDR5-6000 CL30, a reasonably featured B650E, B850, or newer AM5 motherboard, a fast 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and a quality ATX 3.x power supply around 850–1000W. The 9800X3D does not require an expensive liquid cooler; a good dual-tower air cooler can keep it cool and quiet while leaving more of the budget for the graphics card and storage.

Would the Ryzen 7 9850X3D be worth choosing instead, or would the extra cost be better spent elsewhere?
