My computer lists Intel HD Graphics as its GPU, and I'm trying to figure out which graphics driver I should upgrade to. I'm using a laptop, so I'm not sure which processor model or exact driver applies to my system.

Intel HD Graphics is integrated graphics built into the processor rather than a separate graphics card. You generally don’t install a driver for it independently—Windows Update may handle it automatically. For the most reliable update, identify your exact processor model and download the matching graphics driver from Intel or your laptop manufacturer.

“Intel HD Graphics” covers several generations of integrated graphics, so searching for that name alone may give you the wrong driver. Find the full processor model—for example, something like Intel Core i5-6500—and search for its graphics driver. On a laptop, you can usually find the processor under Settings > System > About, or by opening Task Manager and checking the Performance > CPU section.

I’m using a laptop and don’t know the processor model. How can I find that information?
