How can I replace a water-damaged trackpad on a ThinkPad P15s Gen 2?

Water got into the trackpad on my Lenovo ThinkPad P15s Gen 2 (model 20W6), and it stopped working. I opened it up and dried it, but that didn't fix the problem. I work from home and have an important book deadline in three days, so I can't send the laptop away for repairs. I'm using a mouse for now, but that's inconvenient because I travel while working. I'm trying to identify the correct replacement trackpad and related parts so a technician can order them without keeping my laptop. Lenovo's parts list wasn't helpful when I searched for "trackpad." Does anyone know the proper part name or number, and whether this is a reasonable DIY repair?

Replacement touchpads are available for the ThinkPad P15s Gen 2, including parts listed under numbers such as 5M11A17792 or 5M11A17791. Before ordering, confirm the exact machine type and compatibility, since similar ThinkPad models can use different parts. Replacing it may be manageable for an experienced amateur, but the connectors and surrounding components are delicate, so a repair technician is safer if you’re unsure.

Thanks! I’ll verify the model and part numbers first. I may have a technician install it so I don’t damage the connector or nearby components.
