Hey everyone! I just ordered all the parts for my new gaming PC build and I'm really excited to hear your thoughts. I'm upgrading from an i7 9700k and a Nvidia Quadro P4000, so I'm looking for something a bit more powerful without breaking the bank. I'm aiming to game at 1440p with a monitor that can reach up to 180hz. The build cost me around $2,200, which I think is decent considering the current market situation. I live within two hours of a couple of MicroCenters, so I managed to snag a CPU, RAM, and motherboard combo that helped me save some money. Here's what I ended up with:
**CPU:** AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 4.7 GHz 8-Core Processor
**CPU Cooler:** NZXT Kraken Elite 240 RGB (2024) 75.12 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
**Motherboard:** MSI MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
**Memory:** G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Memory
**Storage:** Samsung 990 EVO 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 5.0 X2 NVME Solid State Drive
**Video Card:** Gigabyte GAMING OC Radeon RX 9070 16 GB Video Card
**Case:** NZXT H5 Flow RGB (2024) ATX Mid Tower Case
**Power Supply:** Corsair RM850x (2024) 850 W Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
**Case Fan:** NZXT F120 RGB Core 78.86 CFM 120 mm Fan
**Fan Controller:** NZXT RGB & Fan Controller (2022) Fan Controller

While that cooler looks awesome, you might be able to save some cash and put it towards a better GPU instead. Just a thought!
I think you should definitely consider upgrading to the 9070xt if prices aren’t too far apart. It might give you a noticeable boost in performance!
Have you considered going with the B650 or B850 motherboard? You could save a bit and use that cash for the 9070xt. Also, the Kraken is pretty expensive; there are better options out there for cooling. As for RAM, if you can, go for faster speeds like 6000mhz CL30!
I appreciate the tips! Unfortunately, the bundle options at MicroCenter are limited, and the 9070xt is $900-$1100. I got that 9070 for $699 on Newegg, though I'll definitely upgrade the RAM eventually!
I agree, but the 9070xt is quite pricey, ranging from $900 to $1100. The 9070 you’ve chosen is a great deal at $700!
