I'm trying to use a Nintendo Switch with an older TV/VCR combo. The TV seems to use red, yellow, and white RCA inputs, while the Switch outputs through HDMI. I have tested the cables and adapter with other devices, but I still can't get a picture or sound when the TV is set to AUX. What type of adapter or connection do I need, and are there any settings I should check?

Connect the Switch dock’s HDMI output to the converter, then connect the converter’s yellow plug to the TV’s video input and the red and white plugs to the audio inputs. Power the converter separately if it has a USB power cable, then select the correct AUX, AV, or Line Input channel on the television. Also make sure the Switch is seated in its dock and the dock has its power adapter connected.
The Switch only sends video out through HDMI, so the adapter has to convert HDMI to composite AV/RCA. A common RCA-to-HDMI adapter works in the opposite direction and won’t help here. Look for a powered “HDMI to AV” or “HDMI to composite” converter with yellow, red, and white outputs.
I’ll check the adapter label to make sure it specifically says HDMI-to-AV rather than AV-to-HDMI, and I’ll verify that the converter is powered.
