I'm moving from Xbox to PC and have a budget of about £1,300. I'm finding RAM surprisingly expensive and could really use help choosing compatible parts. I mainly want to play Sea of Thieves, Phasmophobia, and Rainbow Six Siege smoothly. I'll need the complete build, including the processor, graphics card, motherboard, memory, storage, case, and power supply.

A current AM5 build can fit within your budget. One example uses a Ryzen 5 7500F, a B650 motherboard, 16GB of DDR5-6000 memory, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and a Radeon RX 9070 GRE, along with a suitable air cooler, case, and 850W power supply. The example total comes to roughly £1,254, leaving a little room in the budget. A 2x8GB memory kit is enough to get started, although 32GB would be a worthwhile upgrade later if prices come down.
For a gaming build, prioritize the graphics card first, then choose the rest of the parts around it. You don’t necessarily need DDR5 if it pushes the budget too high—an AM4 build with DDR4 can still be a good value option with AMD, while Intel systems from the LGA1700 generation are another possible route. Make sure the motherboard, CPU, and memory use the same platform.
