I'm planning to move my current system out of an HP Victus 15L and replace the OEM motherboard, power supply, case, CPU cooler, RAM, and storage. I'll keep my Intel Core i5-13400F and RTX 4060 8GB. The proposed parts are a Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4 motherboard, 32GB of Crucial Pro DDR4-3200 CL22 memory, a Kingston KC3000 1TB NVMe SSD, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Spectrum V3 cooler, a Lian Li LANCOOL 207 case, and a Corsair RM650e 650W PSU. My goals are balanced 1440p gaming, smoother performance in Star Citizen with fewer stutters and asset-streaming issues, acceptable performance in Cyberpunk 2077 and other demanding games, good airflow and temperatures, and a reliable system with some room for the future. I'm not trying to maximize average FPS. Are these parts compatible and a sensible use of roughly $850?

The upgrade is more of a platform and quality-of-life rebuild than a performance upgrade. The KC3000 is a fast drive, although a less expensive PCIe 4.0 SSD would likely feel the same in games. DDR4-3200 is fine for the 13400F, but CL22 is relatively slow, so a 3200 CL16 or 3600 CL18 kit would be preferable if the price difference is small. The Hyper 212 should be adequate, and the RM650e provides enough headroom for the current CPU and GPU. For Star Citizen, shader compilation, game optimization, and CPU/GPU limits may still cause stutters even after replacing the OEM parts.
The parts are generally compatible, but this rebuild probably won’t increase your gaming FPS because the i5-13400F and RTX 4060 are staying the same. The motherboard supports the CPU and DDR4 memory, the cooler should support LGA1700, the case has plenty of airflow, and 650W is enough for this hardware. Before buying, verify that the Victus CPU and graphics card don’t use proprietary connectors or mounting hardware. The new SSD and 32GB of RAM can improve loading and reduce memory-related stuttering, but they won’t transform GPU-limited 1440p performance.
