I accidentally left my MSI laptop running without its charger overnight. Now the battery is stuck at 0% and Windows doesn't say it's charging. A recent battery report showed the battery still had around 70% of its original capacity. I normally use a mode that limits charging to 50%, but I disabled it to make sure it wasn't preventing the battery from charging. What should I try?

First, unplug the charger while the laptop is running. If it immediately shuts down, the battery really is empty or isn’t being detected. If it stays on, the battery probably has charge and the percentage display is just wrong, so restarting may correct it. On laptops with removable batteries, reseating the battery can also help, although many newer models require removing the back panel.
I tested it and it shut off as soon as I unplugged the charger. After turning it back on, it started charging normally without me changing anything. Thanks!
