I accidentally left my MSI laptop running without its charger overnight. When I opened it today, the battery was stuck at 0% and Windows didn't show that it was charging. I usually use a battery-protection setting that limits charging to 50%, but I disabled it in case it was preventing the battery from charging. A battery report I checked a few days ago showed the battery still had about 70% of its original capacity. Is there a way to get it charging again?

Try unplugging the charger while the laptop is running. If it stays on, the battery probably has charge and the percentage reading is just stuck; restarting may correct it. If it immediately shuts down, the battery is genuinely empty or unable to provide power. In that case, reseating the battery could help, although many newer MSI models require removing the bottom cover.
I tested it, and it shut off immediately when I unplugged the charger. After turning it back on, it started charging normally without me changing anything. Thanks for the help!
