Hey everyone, I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 and I'm considering an upgrade. I've read that the Ryzen 7 5700X3D could be a decent step up, plus I won't need to switch to an AM5 socket. However, I'm seeing that UserBenchmark rates it as only 17% better than my current processor, even though I've heard from others that they've experienced a significant performance boost. I mainly play demanding games like Indiana Jones and Red Dead Redemption, so I'm a bit confused about those benchmarking results.
Additionally, I've noticed that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is priced over $500 here, not to mention the requirement for an AM5 upgrade. Given that, I'm wondering if it might be a better idea to upgrade to AM5 and opt for a more affordable Ryzen 7 7700X instead. Just for reference, my GPU is a 4070 Super. What do you all think?

I would completely disregard UserBenchmark. They have a reputation for not respecting AMD's performance and have even altered their benchmarking methods to show AMD chips in a worse light. If you can spend under $300, go for the Ryzen 7 5700X3D. But if you're willing to shell out $400 or more, consider upgrading to an AM5 motherboard along with DDR5 RAM and an AM5 CPU.
Thanks! So, in your opinion, would the Ryzen 7 7800X3D be worth the $500? I have the budget, but I'm looking for the best value.
