Is Installing Linux with a 50-Series GPU Challenging?

I'm planning to install Linux on my system with an Nvidia RTX 5080, but I've heard that Linux support for newer GPUs may not be as robust as for older ones like the 40-series. I'm new to Linux and want to use it for some AI workloads, especially since my NVME drive is arriving soon. Are there any specific challenges or tips I should know about running Linux on a device like the 5080? I came across some issues from earlier this year related to support—has that been resolved? I would appreciate any guidance or resources!

It really depends on which Linux distribution you choose. I have a 5080 myself and found that Linux Mint was pretty user-friendly, but I wasn't a huge fan of it overall. I eventually switched to Fedora with KDE Plasma and it's been fantastic! If you're looking to set up your 5080 on Fedora, I definitely recommend checking out this guide to help you get started.
