My phone was unlocked incorrectly too many times last night, and after I finally got back in, it had reset itself and erased most of my data. I can restore information from my last backup, but that backup is from 2024. Recently deleted items, voice memos, text messages, and app data from after that backup are missing. Is there any way to recover those newer files?

The reset is designed to make the phone’s data unrecoverable. Modern phones use encryption, and a factory reset removes the encryption keys, so even if fragments remain in the storage hardware, they can’t normally be read.
Unfortunately, anything included in the 2024 backup should be recoverable by restoring that backup, but data created afterward is generally gone if it wasn’t synced somewhere else. Check cloud services, synced accounts, and any other devices that may still contain copies.
The only realistic recovery is restoring the older backup and checking services such as photo storage, messaging backups, notes, or voicemail sync. Professional recovery software usually can’t bypass the encryption after an automatic reset.
This was likely caused by the security setting that automatically erases the phone after too many failed unlock attempts. Devices usually warn you as the attempt limit gets close and may impose temporary lockouts first, but once the wipe happens, files that weren’t backed up or synced are effectively lost.
