I built this PC myself a few years ago and have been using it since. I'm looking for a reasonably priced upgrade path rather than replacing everything at once. My current parts are a Ryzen 5 2600, Radeon RX 580, 16GB of Kingston RAM, an ASRock B450M Pro4 motherboard, a 1TB Kingston SSD, and a 1TB Seagate hard drive. I mainly want better gaming performance and would appreciate suggestions for mid-range upgrades that fit my existing platform. I'm also open to better alternatives for comparing component performance.

For a straightforward gaming upgrade, replace the RX 580 first because it is currently the biggest performance limitation. A Ryzen 5 5600 or 5700X would be a good follow-up, depending on local prices. This lets you keep the B450 motherboard and 16GB of memory while getting a much larger improvement than replacing everything at once.
I was thinking along those lines, but I’m trying to stay below the cost of the newer high-end cards. A balanced mid-range option would be ideal.
