I don't know much about PC hardware and would appreciate some advice on this build:
- Intel Core i5-12400F
- MSI PRO B760M-P DDR4 motherboard
- 32GB DDR4-3200 RAM (2×16GB)
- MSI GeForce RTX 4060 Ventus 2X
- Patriot P300 512GB PCIe Gen 3 NVMe SSD
- MSI MAG A650BN 650W 80 Plus Bronze power supply
I'm aiming to play demanding games at 1080p, ideally on a 144Hz monitor. Will these parts handle modern games well, and are there any components I should change?

The build is generally balanced for 1080p, and 32GB of RAM is plenty. A 650W power supply is also enough for an RTX 4060 system, assuming the unit is functioning properly. The 512GB SSD will work, but it may fill quickly once you install several large games, so a 1TB drive could be a worthwhile upgrade.
A 144Hz monitor makes sense for competitive or less demanding games, but you probably won't reach 144 FPS in every graphically intensive game at high settings. Look for a 1080p monitor with adaptive sync, such as FreeSync or G-SYNC Compatible support, rather than choosing based on refresh rate alone.
This setup should be suitable for 1080p gaming. The RTX 4060 and i5-12400F can run demanding modern games, although you may need medium or high settings rather than maximum settings in the heaviest titles. Actual performance will depend on the specific games and whether you use features such as ray tracing.
The phrase “extremely demanding games” can mean very different things. For the latest games with ultra settings, ray tracing, or higher resolutions, a stronger graphics card would be needed. For normal 1080p gaming with sensible settings, this build should be a reasonable choice.
I was unsure whether the information I found about the parts was reliable, so I wanted a second opinion on whether the build made sense.

1080p is fine for me, and I was considering a 144Hz monitor. I mainly wanted to make sure the computer could handle demanding games before choosing the display.
