Am I Safe After My Cousin Typed Random Characters in PowerShell?

So, my little cousin got curious and opened up PowerShell on my computer. He just randomly typed some gibberish (like ahejxhsheb) and hit enter, which resulted in an error saying that the term isn't recognized as a cmdlet or operable program. I'm not really familiar with PowerShell and I'm worried. Does this error mean anything serious? Could I be at risk for a virus or malware because of this?

You're okay! That kind of error is common when someone types a command that doesn’t exist. Just be careful with stuff like Win+R commands from untrustworthy sources, as those can be dangerous. You might want to set a lock screen for extra security, just in case your cousin sneaks on again!

Good to know! I didn’t think he did anything harmful—just worried because I’ve heard about various hacks. I’ll definitely set a lock screen!

Nah, you’re not hacked or anything. It was just gibberish. The scary stuff usually happens when someone runs commands they should not, especially things copied from suspicious websites. So you should be fine!

Thanks for the reassurance! I guess it's good to know he just messed around randomly and I'm not in any danger.

That error message is just letting you know that what was typed isn't a valid command in PowerShell, so it didn't do anything. No worries, you’re safe!

Ok, that’s what I figured. He just typed random letters without doing anything else. I’ve heard about those fake captcha viruses where you can accidentally install stuff, but he didn’t do that—just the random typing.
