How can I host an audio file for a QR code tattoo?

Hey everyone, I'm a CNC machinist with zero experience in web hosting and I'm looking for some guidance. I want to host an audio file of a voicemail from my wife to create a QR code that I'll be tattooing on my chest. The goal is simple: I just want to be able to scan the tattoo with my phone and have it play the audio recording. I'm pretty sure I need to buy a domain for this, but I'm not sure if I need a website from a service like Carrd, Squarespace, or Wix, or if there's an easier way to do this without relying on third-party services. Any help in figuring out how to best accomplish this would be greatly appreciated!

Get yourself a domain and link it to the QR code. The awesome thing about owning the domain is that you can change where it points to later on if needed. Just a heads up though—QR codes can fade or get blurry over time, so keep that in mind for your tattoo!

Yeah, I'll definitely make sure the design is simple and the size is right for clarity—going to a fine line artist for that.

That sounds like a cool idea! You definitely want a domain, and you can use services like Squarespace for that. But here's a tip: you might not need a full website at all! You could just have the domain redirect to an audio file stored on Google Drive or even a YouTube link; no coding required!
