New RTX 5060 PC turns on, but the monitor shows no signal

I just bought a €1,100 PC with an MSI GeForce RTX 5060. When I powered it on for the first time, the monitor stayed off and the graphics card didn't appear to be working. The seller has already tried troubleshooting with me for about 20 minutes, including reconnecting the visible cable from the GPU, but nothing has helped. I'm not very experienced with computers and I'm worried something may be wrong. What should I check next?

First, confirm that the monitor’s HDMI or DisplayPort cable is connected to one of the ports on the graphics card itself, not the motherboard’s video ports. Also select the correct input on the monitor. If it is already connected to the GPU, check whether the PC is actually starting: look for case fans, motherboard lights, and any diagnostic LEDs or beep codes.

The monitor cable is definitely plugged into the GPU. I’m not sure how to tell whether the card is fully powered, though.

Turn the computer completely off, switch off and unplug the power supply, then hold the power button for a few seconds. Reseat the GPU in its PCIe slot and firmly reconnect its power connector until it clicks. The other end of the power cable may be hidden behind the case’s side panel and connected directly to the power supply, so don’t force or remove unfamiliar cables. If you’re uncomfortable opening the case, ask the seller to inspect it or have the PC exchanged or serviced, since a newly sold system should arrive tested.

I can only see and disconnect the cable at the GPU. The power-supply side is tucked inside the case with the other cables, and I’m not confident opening it myself.
