I bought a brand-new MSI Vector 16 HX AI A2XW running Windows 11 in England. During setup, I skipped the normal out-of-box experience because I didn't want to sign in with a Microsoft account. I used a setup command to access an administrator account and then created a local user account instead. The laptop works well overall, but I'm now seeing several problems: MSI Center fails with an error involving MSI.CentralServer.exe, a System Preparation Tool 3.14 window appears after every restart and mentions that Windows may not have been installed properly, and the computer recently restarted unexpectedly after reporting that Windows had encountered a problem. I've already tried updating, uninstalling, and reinstalling MSI Center. I'd prefer not to factory-reset the laptop because I've installed Steam, Discord, and several games, but I want to know whether the unusual setup caused these issues and what the safest way to repair Windows would be.

Since the laptop is new and still under warranty, contacting MSI support or returning it for service would be the safest option. The setup method probably didn’t physically damage the hardware, but the Sysprep/System Preparation Tool message suggests Windows may not have completed installation correctly. MSI can tell you whether the machine needs a recovery image or a clean Windows installation.
A clean Windows installation may be the most reliable solution, especially because the system is reporting that Windows was not properly installed. A factory recovery reset could also restore the manufacturer’s intended drivers and MSI utilities, but back up your files first and expect to reinstall your applications. If you use recovery media, make sure it’s the correct MSI image or a properly created Windows installer.
Would the laptop’s built-in factory reset accomplish the same thing, or would I need to perform a completely clean installation?
You can use a Microsoft account during setup and then create a separate local Windows account afterward, but that probably won’t repair the current installation by itself. The unexpected restart could be a driver or Windows fault, so check the crash history and install the official MSI chipset, graphics, and firmware updates. If the Sysprep popup continues, reinstalling or recovering Windows is more appropriate than repeatedly reinstalling MSI Center.

It is still under warranty, so I may contact MSI support. I’m also wondering whether a factory reset and going through the normal setup would be the best fix.
