I'm trying to purchase MCD2 through the official Minecraft launcher, but the payment form rejects my postal code and only says that the format is incorrect. I've tried adding a space, using a ZIP+4 code, and several other formats, but nothing works. My region and account settings appear to be set to the United States, even though one check suggested they might be set to the United Kingdom. I've also tried both my current ZIP code and the billing ZIP code connected to my card. What else could be causing this?

Make sure you're entering the ZIP code associated with the payment card rather than just the address where you currently live. Since you're buying through the official launcher and neither ZIP worked, the issue may be with the saved payment profile or the checkout service. Removing and re-adding the payment method, or trying the purchase through the account's web store, may help identify where the mismatch is.
A postal-code error like this is often caused by a mismatch between the store region, account region, or payment profile. Even if the launcher shows the United States, check the country on the account's billing profile and payment provider, then sign out and back in after correcting anything. The ZIP code should normally match the billing address registered with the card.
I checked the visible region and account settings, and both show the United States, but I'll look more closely at the billing profile too.
