I have an MSI PRO A620M-G EVO WIFI motherboard with a Ryzen 5 7500F, an RTX 5060, and 16GB of DDR5-4800 CL40 memory running as a single stick. This is a prebuilt system, so I'm not completely sure which power supply it uses, although it has been reliable so far. I mainly play Valorant and want the highest and most consistent FPS possible. Would upgrading to a Ryzen 5 7500X3D work well with this A620 motherboard, or would the motherboard limit the CPU? The price difference compared with the 7700X3D is around €70. I'd also appreciate advice on what component I should upgrade next.

The motherboard should be fine with a relatively efficient X3D processor. An A620 board may have fewer features and less power-delivery headroom than a higher-end model, but it shouldn’t hold back a low-power six-core chip in normal gaming. Just make sure the BIOS supports the processor before installing it.
I wouldn’t focus too much on the word “bottleneck.” With modern parts, there can always be a small limitation somewhere, and that usually isn’t a problem. For Valorant, the single-stick memory setup is probably a more immediate concern: adding a matching second 16GB module to run dual-channel could improve performance and frame-time consistency. Also check the exact PSU model before making the upgrade.

That makes sense. I’m still fairly new to PC upgrades, so I’ll check the BIOS, memory configuration, and power-supply model first.
