My MacBook's LCD panel is damaged, leaving the bottom half of the display blank, and the built-in microphones no longer work. I need to access this MacBook before I can use screen mirroring, but the password field is partly out of view and I cannot rely on spoken feedback. What is the best way to unlock it and connect an external display or otherwise control it?

Connect an external monitor along with a USB or Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. At the login screen, you can usually type the account password even if the password field is not visible, then press Return. Once the Mac is unlocked, you should be able to use the external display or configure mirroring. If you need audio guidance, try enabling VoiceOver with Command-F5, provided the keyboard shortcut is available on that Mac.

I can connect an external display and keyboard, but I was unsure whether typing the password blindly would work because I cannot see the field. I’ll try entering it and pressing Return first.
