I've been using Cursor for a while and had a decent experience with Task Master MCP, which allowed me to get a few projects off the ground pretty quickly, even if the code wasn't the best. Recently, I switched to Claude Code and have been trying to integrate Task Master with it. However, after a few tries, Claude seems to ignore Task Master and just makes its own to-do lists instead. I'm sure there's a better way to use Claude Code effectively since I can tell it's a powerful tool, and I don't want to be the one holding it back.

Can I use MCP with Claude Code?
I found a good way to work with Claude Code! First, I create a markdown file called TASK.md where I outline the user story, business value, and break the task into distinct subtasks. Then, I create a branch in my project and add the TASK.md there. Next, I use Claude as an AI assistant to refine the tasks for coding. After that, I tackle each subtask one session at a time and ensure Claude adds a description of its progress at the end of each session for continuity.
My workflow revolves around a local kanban system. I made a few tweaks to how I use it with Claude Code, like making sure Claude commits a bit earlier and without needing my approval each time. I really like how MCP handled my git repo, so I'm trying to steal some ideas from it for Claude Code!
