Hey everyone, I just got my friend's old PC, but I'm running into a frustrating issue. It won't connect to my monitor, no matter what I do. I tried using the HDMI cord I usually use for my PlayStation and tested both HDMI slots on the monitor, but nothing seems to work. I even ordered a DisplayPort cable and that didn't help either. I took it to Best Buy where the techs managed to get it running; they updated Windows, downloaded Adobe, and got the NVIDIA drivers sorted. However, when I brought it back home, it still refuses to display anything on my monitor. Is there a simpler fix, or is it time to consider getting a new monitor?

You might want to check with the Best Buy techs about how they managed to get it working. If possible, send a photo of the back of your PC to see if all the connections are right. One thing to consider is that sometimes video cables don't seat correctly because they get obstructed by the case, so just make sure they're plugged in snugly into the right ports.
It sounds like you might have plugged the HDMI cable into the motherboard instead of the GPU. Make sure to connect it directly to the HDMI port on the graphics card. Sometimes those ports can be a bit hidden behind the chassis, so it might need a good push to get it properly seated.
Oh wow, I didn't think about that either. Hopefully that's the issue!
I've got it to work now, but I'm running into another issue – no Wi-Fi networks are showing up, and it's asking for an Ethernet cable. Any advice on that?
