Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I recently upgraded my graphics card from a GTX 1060 to an RTX 5070. Initially, everything went well—I was able to boot into Windows without issues. However, when I tried to install the new drivers, my screen went black and nothing happened after that. I left it for a while, hoping it would sort itself out, but no luck. When I powered off the machine and tried to boot up again, it would just freeze and give me another black screen before reaching the desktop. Now, I can't get it to respond at all; my mouse and keyboard seem inactive. I've tried booting into safe mode, but it won't let me access recovery mode either. I'm currently working on creating a bootable USB drive to see if that helps. If that fails, I'm really not sure what my next steps should be. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Have you thought about re-inserting your old GTX 1060 to see if it still boots? Sometimes, it helps to revert to the previous setup to diagnose the problem. Also, check your power supply unit (PSU). Make sure it's enough to handle the RTX 5070; an older PSU might struggle. What wattage is it?
I haven't tried the 1060 yet, but I managed to boot from a flash drive and it runs fine. I just can't access my primary drive to manage the drivers. As for the PSU, it's a 1000 watt model from around 2017; it's pretty old but was working fine before. I'll definitely check the 1060 soon.
