I plugged my phone in earlier today, but it didn't show any signs of charging. This has happened before, so I tried rebooting it, which now makes it read 0% battery, and it still won't charge. Before the reboot, it was at 69%. Now, it won't turn on unless it's plugged in for a while, and it shuts off if I unplug it. I'm wondering how to solve this issue. I'm considering doing a backup and then a factory reset, but I'm not sure if that will help. Any ideas? Thanks!

It’s likely that either your phone's battery is dead or the charging cord has issues. I'd start by checking the charging cable; it’s usually the cheapest option to replace first.
Just to clarify, it could be one of a few things: 1) Your battery might need replacing, 2) there could be damage to the charging port or circuitry, or 3) your charging cord/brick might be faulty. Unfortunately, you’ll likely have to spend some money to address the issue. If you can rule out the charging cord, a trip to a repair shop might be in order.
Sounds like a dead battery to me. What phone model are you using? Is it still running on the original battery, or has it been replaced before?
This sounds like a hardware issue rather than a software one. You might be facing a dead battery, or the internal charging circuitry of your phone could be faulty. If you’ve tried different cords and it’s still not working, you may need to see a professional for a proper diagnosis.
Yep, definitely sounds like a battery issue. It’ll help to know the model of your phone!
