I'm building a new rig primarily for everyday use and some light gaming, using a Ryzen 9600X and MSI Tomahawk B450 motherboard. I mistakenly got Corsair RAM that's XMP but doesn't mention Expo, and the compatible kind is an extra $30. Will I face issues running this RAM, or is it likely that I'll still get the advertised speeds even with this mix-up? I really don't want to make the 30-minute trip to Best Buy if it's not a big deal. Any insights would be appreciated!

You should be just fine using the XMP profile! Corsair RAM is pretty common, and most users have had success with it on Ryzen builds. Just make sure to enable the XMP setting in your BIOS to get the speeds you’re looking for.
I’ve used 96GB of XMP at 6600 MT/s with my 9950X3D and had no issues. Just double-check your motherboard’s compatibility, but I think you'll be okay. Remember, XMP is Intel-focused while Expo is tailored for AMD, but they can work together to an extent.
Manual settings could help if you want to optimize it. Just configure the timings as if it's a 6000 MT/s Expo memory, and you should be good to go!
I’ve got XMP RAM running with my Ryzen 7800X3D, and it works well, though keep in mind that there might be limits on performance when pushing higher memory capacities. Best check your motherboard specs to confirm everything’s compatible.
