Hey everyone! I've got a PC that I use for personal stuff and gaming, but it hasn't seen any upgrades in years. I'm looking to boost its performance without breaking the bank—ideally keeping it under $1,000. Here's what I'm working with right now:
- CPU: Intel Core i5 10400
- GPU: Radeon RX 580 Series
- Motherboard: ASUSTeK Prime Z490M-Plus
- RAM: G.Skill F4-3200C16-16GVK DDR4 (2 sticks)
- Storage: Kingston SV300S37A480G
I'd love to hear your suggestions on which parts I should consider upgrading. Thanks a bunch!

Definitely go for the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB along with an SSD for faster load times. If you don’t have an aftermarket CPU cooler yet, consider grabbing one like the PS120 SE to keep things cool when you upgrade in the future.
If gaming is your main focus, definitely think about getting a new GPU since your RX 580 is getting dated. The RTX 5060 Ti 16GB would be a solid upgrade! Just keep in mind, if you're also planning to upgrade the CPU and RAM, you might be close to just building a new computer altogether instead of upgrading individually.
Consider adding an NVMe M.2 drive for faster storage and upgrading your GPU to a mid-range option like the RTX 5060 Ti or even a used 3070 if you find a good price. You could also look at bundles for an AM5 CPU, motherboard, and RAM for about $300-$350. With $1000, you could rebuild and get a pretty solid gaming rig!
Thank you!
For CPU, I'd suggest going for the Ryzen 5 7600X along with a B650E motherboard and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. Pair that with an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GPU for a nice upgrade that'll definitely improve your gaming experience!
Thanks! For now, I'm mainly interested in boosting gaming performance.
