Help! My PC Can’t Connect to the Internet, But My Laptop Can

I'm having a frustrating issue where my PC, which is connected via Ethernet, is showing no Internet connection, and I can't even get WiFi to work either. Surprisingly, my laptop and mobile phone are still able to connect without any problems. I recently did a full scan with Malwarebytes and found nothing. At the time of the disconnect, I had NORD VPN running, but I've since restarted the PC and made sure NORD doesn't start automatically anymore. I've tried some fixes I found on Microsoft forums but haven't had any luck. I'm hoping someone here has faced something similar and can offer some help!

A good troubleshooting step is to try pinging 8.8.8.8. If that works, it's likely a DNS issue, but if it fails, it points to a different problem like DHCP not working properly. Also, make sure you're getting an IP address from your router and try setting static DNS servers like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 from Google. That might help!

I tried pinging and got 'General failure' and 100% packet loss. No clue what that means, haha!

First thing you should do is check if you have a static IP or DNS settings. Next, run an elevated command prompt and type 'netsh winsock reset'. After a restart, see if that fixes it. If you're still having issues, remove the network adapter from the device manager and let your PC redetect it. If that doesn't work, hidden components might show more WAN miniports that you can delete. And if all else fails, it might be a hardware issue with your network card.

Sounds like there's definitely something going on with your PC. Since your laptop connects fine, it could be a configuration issue like a static IP or corrupt WAN miniport drivers. Definitely worth looking into that!

If that's the case, I would suggest checking the network adapter settings too. You might need to reconfigure some settings or just reset everything.

Have you checked for any unexpected settings in the network properties? Sometimes, it's just a small tweak in the settings that can fix connection issues. Resetting network settings or even reinstalling the network drivers can help too!
