Hey everyone! I just completed my new build and have been playing CS2. I've noticed that my CPU temperature hits a max of 84°C, usually settling around 80°C or even 79°C during gaming sessions. I'm using the stock cooler along with the thermal paste that came with it. Additionally, I'm currently using an older case, the Antec NX100. I'm wondering if I should invest in a new case or just switch to a better thermal paste, like Arctic MX4. Any advice would be really appreciated!
Edit: I'm using an i5 14400F CPU.
Edit 2: I'm also considering adding more fans since I currently only have one exhaust fan.

First off, you might want to check your CPU model – that info is key! The temperatures you mention seem typical for stock coolers. For instance, my R5 7600 runs a bit hot on the stock cooler too. Generally, Intel CPUs don’t start throttling until they hit around 95°C, so your temps are in an acceptable range. But if you’re looking for some cool-down options, I'd definitely recommend better cooling solutions overall.
You should seriously think about maxing out your case fans first. I suggest adding 2x120mm fans for intake at the front and maybe 3x120mm for exhaust at the top and rear. A PWM hub would also be a good idea to control them. After optimizing airflow, consider a better air cooler and thermal paste before even thinking about replacing the whole case.
Yep, I totally agree! With that CPU, you’re in a safe spot temp-wise, but if you plan on more demanding tasks or overclocking, better cooling can help.
