I'm looking to upgrade the M.2 SSD on my PC, which currently has a 1TB drive running Windows 10. My motherboard has two slots, and I plan to install a new 2TB SSD in the primary slot while moving the current SSD to the secondary slot. I want to know if I can simply switch the drives around, or if I need to use cloning software to transfer my files and games. Also, how do I ensure my PC recognizes the new drive as the primary one?

You can just swap the old drive to the second slot. Your Windows will boot up just like before. You can install the new drive in the primary slot without needing to clone it.
But if the new drive is much faster, wouldn't it make sense to use it as the primary and store games there for better performance?
