I've been using my AMD RX 480 since 2016, and although I haven't gamed much since 2021, I'm eager to get back into it. I believe a GPU upgrade is the best way to enhance my experience. My setup consists of the RX 480 in a desktop paired with an i5-10600k CPU (I might upgrade to a 10th or 11th gen i7 next year). My laptop, on the other hand, has an i7-12650H and a mobile RTX 3070, so I want my desktop to outperform it. Both systems have 16GB of RAM, but I'm considering boosting the desktop's RAM to 32GB. I'm a bit lost on current bottleneck issues and where to find reliable info. I'm looking at the RTX 5060 ti as an affordable upgrade, but I'm not sure if my 10th gen Intel CPU will hold it back. Would getting a 5060 ti make sense, or should I consider something from the 40 series?

If you're thinking about a CPU upgrade next year, maybe skip the 10th gen i7 if it's not a great deal. The RTX 5060 ti, especially the 16GB variant, is a solid choice. Just steer clear of the 8GB version since it has been reported to have some issues.
Definitely go for the RTX 5060 ti, but make sure you get the 16GB version! The extra memory will really help you in the long run. Also, consider checking out used options like the RX 6700 XT or the 6800 XT if you want something newer.
Great question! First, can you share your power supply info and your budget? Knowing that will help narrow down the options. How much are you willing to spend on the GPU upgrade?
I have a 650 watt PSU, I'm in the US, and my budget for the GPU upgrade is around $500.
