Help! My Computer Has a Weird WiFi Problem

Hey everyone! I woke up this morning and fired up my PC to play some games and browse the web, but ran into a pretty strange issue. I launched my game, Punishing Gray Raven, and after signing in with my Google account, I was hit with a network issue when trying to log in. I thought it was odd, especially since everything was working fine yesterday.

After that, I opened Discord, but it just showed a black screen with the update window. I figured the issue must be on my end since I'm using Brave, but I could still Google stuff and watch YouTube videos in 1080p without any buffering.

I tried the usual troubleshooting—restarting and updating my PC, disconnecting and reconnecting to WiFi, and even rebooting my router. But nothing changed. When I tried opening various websites, some loaded while others just wouldn't. My PC shows I'm connected to WiFi, but the status indicates that my Local Area Connection has no internet access.

I ran a WiFi speed test which showed my connection is fast, so I'm kind of confused how only certain things are working, especially since my iPad is running without any WiFi issues. I'd really appreciate any advice to fix this!

I had something similar happen to me too! One day some sites wouldn't load and it turned out to be an ISP issue. You could also run a quick reset command in the command prompt, but make sure that your computer doesn't have anything weird running in the background that’s hogging resources.

Running network reset commands could help, but I get it—technology can be a maze! To do so, search 'cmd' in the start menu, right-click and choose 'Run as administrator'. In there, type 'netsh winsock reset' and hit enter. After that, restart your computer and see if it helps.

This sounds frustrating! It's possible the issue might be related to your ISP or DNS settings. Sometimes local DNS can cause certain websites to time out. Check your task manager for any unusual resource use and, if possible, test accessing those websites on another device connected to the same WiFi to pinpoint the problem. If it’s just your PC, you might want to try using some network reset commands in cmd.
