I'm in the process of upgrading my old PC, which I've been using for about 8 years. I'm trying to decide between the AMD 7800X3D priced at €435 and the AMD 9800X3D at €528. Is the price difference justified? Additionally, I'd appreciate recommendations for a suitable motherboard for each CPU. My main use for the PC is gaming, especially Baldur's Gate 3, and I hope to also squeeze in some time for Satisfactory. I'm aiming for a setup that will last at least 5 years. Sorry for my English, it's not my first language! Thanks for any help!

If you're focusing on gaming, the 9800X3D offers about 8-12% better performance compared to the 7800X3D. However, if you're also planning to do productivity tasks, the 9800X3D shines significantly in those areas too.
With that extra money, consider investing in a better GPU instead. The 9800X3D is definitely worth it if you also multitask. Both CPUs can work with a decent B850 motherboard from your preferred brand.
Thanks for the motherboard tip! I already have an ASUS 4070 12GB.
The price difference is definitely worth considering. Look at motherboards like B850, X870, and X870E based on the features you need, such as USB ports, overclocking potential, and M.2 support for SSDs. It's all about what suits your needs best.
Okay, thanks a lot!
