How to Manage Secure Boot Settings for Windows 11 Upgrade?

I'm trying to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 but running into some issues related to Secure Boot and UEFI settings. I don't have the cash for a new PC, so I really want to make this work with my current setup. I ran the Windows compatibility tool, and everything looks good, but I'm getting messages about Secure Boot. My system supports both UEFI and Legacy boot modes. I made sure UEFI is set to boot first, but when I disable Legacy, I can't boot into the OS at all—it says it can't find it or something similar. When I re-enable Legacy, I can boot again without any issues. What should I do to resolve this? Also, I tried to share some images of my settings, but I'm not able to post them here.

Before you proceed with changes, make sure you have backups of important data. Also, about the Unsupported Secure Boot state, if you can't enable Secure Boot, that may restrict your UEFI capabilities. Sometimes, BIOS updates from your motherboard manufacturer can help with these issues. Just be cautious with BIOS settings as they can lead to data loss if not handled properly.

In terms of how Windows settings can influence BIOS, Windows primarily interacts with the BIOS during its startup processes. If certain features like Secure Boot aren’t supported, changing your settings in Windows can complicate things further. Always check compatibility in BIOS after changing Windows settings.

It sounds like you might be dealing with a legacy installation that doesn’t support UEFI booting. Remember, when Windows is installed in Legacy mode (CSM), it uses an MBR partition type. If you switch to UEFI without converting your partitions to GPT, the system won't boot. You can use a built-in utility called MBR2GPT to change your partition style without a full system wipe. Another option is to do a clean install via USB, but prepare for that to erase everything. This is usually more stable than an upgrade. Just ensure you have backups before changing any settings.
