I'm considering moving my media PC, which I use for Plex and Jellyfin, from Windows to Linux Mint. I'm fed up with Windows hogging space and not performing well. The snag is that I have an NTFS hard drive with all my media on it, and I don't have a backup drive available to transfer the data for reformatting. Will this be a hassle on Linux Mint?

I had a similar situation. Do you have any spare computers where you could temporarily move some of the data? It’s a good idea to clear out some space if you can, or just see if there’s data you could download again if needed.
It's not a big deal; Linux can read and write NTFS partitions by default. You should be good to go without any major issues.
I've been using NTFS on Linux for a while, and it has been pretty stable. No issues on my end!
All you really need is the ntfs-3g package to handle NTFS volumes. Most Linux distributions, including Mint, come with this preinstalled, so it should work without any hassle. Just plug in the drive and it should recognize it right away.
You could also check if a nearby computer store offers data transfer services for a low price. But honestly, NTFS should work well as others mentioned.
