I've been trying to fully switch to Linux for a while now, but one thing is holding me back: Tibia. I've already replaced my usual software like Adobe and Corel with GIMP and Inkscape, but I can't seem to get Tibia running right on Linux. I've followed many tutorials and tried different distributions, but I'm still facing two major issues: the in-game font looks distorted and I get lag spikes even with decent hardware. My setup is a Lenovo Legion 5 with an AMD processor and NVIDIA RTX 3050, and Tibia runs without problems on Windows. I'm really frustrated with Windows due to the increasing telemetry and forced updates. Has anyone here found a way to run Tibia smoothly on Linux? Which distribution worked best for you? Any tips or experiences would really help!

My son plays Tibia on Fedora KDE, and he hasn't encountered any issues at all. While I haven’t tried it myself, it seems to be working smoothly for him!
I primarily played private servers, but I dabbled with real Tibia on Ubuntu last year and it worked just fine for me. So it’s definitely possible, just might need some setup adjustments.
One option is to install a Windows VM, but keep in mind that Tibia doesn’t allow logging in from a VM because of their anti-cheat measures. So, it might not be the best bet.
From what I’ve seen on winehq appdb, you should be good to go with Wine version 10. Just make sure you have all the necessary dependencies installed, and you might see an improvement.
You should definitely try running Tibia through Proton. If you add it as a non-Steam game and set the compatibility mode, it usually runs pretty well that way. Also, consider checking out the Heroic launcher; it might work better for your setup.
Good call! I ran it on Wine 10 before, and it was pretty stable, just had to tweak some settings.
