Is Upgrading to an RTX 5070 Ti a Good Move for My PC?

Hey everyone! I'm running into some performance issues while playing games like Helldivers and the remastered Oblivion on my current setup, so I think it might be time for an upgrade. Here's a quick rundown of my PC specs: I have an ASRock B450M Pro4 motherboard, an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D CPU, a 6GB Gainward RTX2060 Pegasus OC GPU, 16GB of GSkill DDR4 3000MHz AEGIS RAM, and a 600W be quiet! System Power 9 power supply. I'm considering upgrading my GPU to an RTX 5070 Ti. Do you think this GPU would fit well with the rest of my system, or should I expect some bottlenecks? Also, if you have any better suggestions, I'm all ears! By the way, I'm currently using a 1080p monitor but planning to upgrade to a 1440p one once I get the new GPU. Thanks for your insights!

It sounds like you have a decent CPU for gaming, but there's definitely some room for improvement in your RAM and PSU. The RTX 5070 Ti should perform well with your Ryzen 7, but make sure to upgrade your power supply to accommodate the new GPU since 600W might be on the lower side. A 750W PSU would be a safer choice to ensure stability. Also, consider your motherboard's limitations; a better board could give you more room for future upgrades!

Good point about the PSU! Any recommendations for a specific model?

You've got a solid CPU but I would recommend upgrading your RAM and PSU too, and maybe even the motherboard! Depending on what you want to do with your PC, investing in a higher-tier motherboard can provide better support for future upgrades—more ports, better overclocking potential, and improved stability. Just keep your case in mind; if it fits everything, you'll be all set!

What are the actual benefits of having a high-quality motherboard? Is it just about compatibility?
